The delightfully named Windwhistle - and no doubt it does! This is in a wood full of 4 foot high nettles so I was not able to get too close. There are two masts so I photographed everything I could and identified the correct one later. The site is on the edge of the Cricket St Thomas estate and serves Chard and surrounding area.

Windwhistle Hill is a very good transmitter location with clear views in almost every direction. It gives good reception over much of Somerset and north and west Dorset. This has likely been somewhat curtailed from its original coverage as transmitters on or close to 106.6 MHz have since started in Bristol and Poole.

The two masts from the south. FM transmission comes from the left one. The antenna is on the north side and is not visible here.

The mast from within the wood. The antenna is the folded dipole on the right near the top. There was no sign of an RBL antenna though it would seem logical for it to rebroadcast Charlock Hill (originally Coker Hill before the site move).
