Mervyn says: "On my way to visit my daughter in Southampton, I took a slight detour to find Charlock Hill. I had a rough idea what to expect from Google satellite view and had put a pair of wellington boots in the car!"

Charlock Hill was commissioned in 2008 after Ivel FM's transmitter was moved from Coker Hill, presumably to improve reception in Yeovil and Sherborne. Ivel then merged with Shaftesbury's Vale FM and was renamed Midwest Radio, which was then subsequently renamed The Breeze in 2012.

The site is adjacent to farm buildings which stand in open farm land.

According to Ofcom Tx Params the erp is 250 watts.

I'm assuming the white panel is a microwave link to the studio

The transmitter cabinet. The other cabinets on the right would seem to belong to another mast on the site.

This other mast is on the site, looks like Airwave TETRA.
