Meriden at one time formed a link site for the BBC's 13 channel PCM distribution between Thorpe Lodge and Sutton Coldfield. This function ended when the BBC replaced the 13 channel PCM system with fibre optic based distribution system.

Today the site is BBC Coventry & Warwickshire's main transmitter covering north Warwickshire and the eastern part of the metropolitan county of West Midlands whose transmissions are from a directional array comprising two mixed polarisation crossbow panel antennas - one firing north east, the other firing south east. There's also a VHF receive Yagi pointing north-west for the reception of RDS data from Sutton Coldfield.

The site was a Gridcom owned site, who refer to it as Coventry Kinwalsey Lane. The site is now owned by Arqiva.
