Amber Sound launched on 4-Oct-2008 from this site, the old Hippodrome cinema building which had been used previously by the station for RSLs. As of September 2012 the station relocated their transmitter to Ripley (Unicorn Business Park).




From the licence application we understand the transmit antenna was a Skymasts type S.EFX - probably the one above...


... this shorter antenna might have been used for outside broadcast or similar purposes?


At first it looks as though the STL receiver is pointed fair-and-square at the adjacent drainpipe, but apparently the camera lies!
