January 2017

Time 107.5 FM operated from nearby Lambourne House until November 2016. Prior to November 2015 the studios and offices had been in the same building. The move to new studios in the Liberty shopping centre has now been followed by the transmit site moving to an adjacent block. In the process there has been a slight increase in antenna height but the station has switched from mixed to vertical polarisation.

Mercury House is a prominent building. The broadcast antenna can't be seen from this side - nor can much else due to the bright sunlight from behind.

From a nearby multi-storey car park it's possible to get a good view to the rear of the building.

The transmit antenna is now a side-mounted dipole. Maximum ERP is on bearing 340 with a reduction of up to 4 dB towards the south.

This seems to be a gamma-matched arrangement, similar to the Kathrein DAB dipoles but possibly from a different manufacturer.

Planning documents relating to the installation suggest this downward-looking SHF link is used to obtain a programme feed from the studio in the adjacent building.

The relative positions of the two transmit sites and studio - it appears a Band I link may have been used after the studio moved from Lambourne House.
