The Middlesbrough and Redcar SSDAB mux entered service in October 2023, broadcasting from two sites. Nunthorpe, which serves Middlesbrough; and Park Farm in Dunsdale, which serves Redcar and is also the transmit site for their local community station Zetland FM on 105 MHz, which is also on the small scale multiplex.


The tower sits on the Ormesby Bank in the Nunthorpe area of Middlesbrough, providing wide views across Teesside. Power output on the mux is 50 watts from this site.


The DAB transmit aerial appears to be about halfway up the tower, on the left side.

View from the hill where the tower sits. Stockton-on-Tees, Middlesbrough, Billingham and Hartlepool can all be seen from the location, which is at 129 metres.


The Transporter Bridge can be seen in the centre of the photo, with Middlesbrough College to the left and the Riverside Stadium to the right.
