These photos show the location of the temporary aerials installed on Winter Hill to provide coverage of the country's first local digital multiplex,which includes Manchester's Channel M. The multiplex is broadcast at very low power on ch57 (16QAM) and has the capacity to carry a maximum of three tv channels. We undersand that the arrangement here is intended as a temporary one and that ultimately the aerials may be moved higher up the mast. |
