EMLEY MOOR

Photos by Mark G7RJV Page last updated: 2011-04-28

Pictures taken on 9 April 2011.

DSO engineering on the tower has meant the steel frame above the link room has been removed. Possibly to allow installation of the S2 DTT UHF antenna inside the former VHF antenna cylinder. Other DSO works are some new feeders from the transmitter buildings to the tower.

Very little has changed around the base of the tower except for the new UHF feeders.

UHF trough antenna on the south east side of the tower.

Band II antenna mounted on the steel collar of the VHF cylinder. Antenna is mounted at 305m AGL.

Two sets of DAB antenna at Emley Moor. This four tier antenna is the upper antenna mounted at 273m AGL and above the link room, pointing towards 40 degree ETN. The Kathrein designed antenna are used by all DAB services at Emley Moor.

To the left of the DAB antenna is another pair of band II antenna (Possibly temporary for DSO or reserve antenna).

Top of UHF cylinder.

Tower light at the very top can just be seen.

DTT feeders from the transmitters to the tower.
