Comments: Moffat is a relay of Caldbeck. Pre B700 allocations: 45/42/49.

The Moffat relay is a tripole and shadow next to the golf course. (It should not be confused with the much bigger busier tower high up at the end of the same road which is an Arqiva site share tower, Moffat North). Moffat was originally an IBA landlord site which entered service in October 1986 as a relay of Sandale for BBC1 Scotland and Caldbeck for BBC2/Border ITV/Ch4. BBC2 was changed to relay BBC2 Scotland from Sandale when this service commenced in May 1992.

The transmit aerials comprise two tiers of crossed vertical log periodics. I suspect that the twin horizontal log periodics were the original Caldbeck/Sandale receive aerials, and the twin Yagis at the top were added to receive BBC2 Scotland from Sandale, which originally transmitted at only 20 kW ERP on ch 67.
