Pontyllanfriath looks to be a former Home Office site. Ofcom give a service date for South East Wales DAB of 9th February 2016.

Three towers here. The one on the left is home to the DAB aerials.

Two tiers of band III dipoles for DAB transmit.

SHF antenna facing Abertillery. This is one stop on the SHF links providing the South East Wales DAB programme feed to the Tx sites.

SHF antenna facing Rhondda providing the DAB programme feed.

Of the other two towers, this one seems to have 3 UHF Yagis. The bottom one is definitely looking towards Mynydd Bach. Purpose unknown.

3.7 km to the west is Mynydd Bach which was very visible in the sunshine against the grey skies.
