April 2016

Trax FM moved from Clifton to this site in central Doncaster in March 2016. The new site uses an omnidirectional array - Trax did not share the main Band II antenna at Clifton but used a separate array with maximum ERP to the north east

The Trax site for Worksop moved in 2015 - it's not clear whether these changes are to tailor coverage or reduce costs

The evening sun is behind the building, but the new antenna is mounted on the plant room of this 17-storey block (completed 1969, recently refurbished and presumably likely to remain)

After checking the planning application it seems the square panel on the left is the link from the Trax studio nearby

The transmit antenna is the Lindenblad array - presenting the usual problem of how to get all the slanted dipoles visible at once

We understand this is a Skymasts S.LBLAD array

From further away...the antenna is on a relatively long pole - Ofcom puts the antenna at 52 m
