New UHF receive aerial - June 2023

The four toed-in UHF log periodic receive aerials at Marlborough have been replaced with a panel aerial. This change will be due to the channel changes for 700 MHz clearance at the parent station Mendip.






From the top down

UHF transmit cylinder - Unchanged as TV transmission at Marlborough remain in band IV.
Two tiers of band III dipoles on the right - DAB transmit
Four element band II Yagi on the left pointing towards Blunsdon - ILR RBL.
Two tiers, each comprising two Alan Dick band II panels facing west and northeast - BBC FM transmit
Band II loop and dipole - ILR transmit. Somewhat lost between the mobile phone panels

Further round and both the DAB and ILR aerials become more visible.


ILR (96.5 MHz), loop and dipole transmit aerial


Two tiers of band III cardioid arrays for DAB transmit. They point west towards Marlborough town centre.


Twin six element band II Yagis receiving Oxford provide the programme feed for Radio's 1 - 4.
