Show historic services

Bagillt was one of three UHF relays built in the mid 1990's to provide BBC 1 Wales and S4C to areas on the Welsh side of the river Dee estuary, which otherwise enjoyed good reception of English programming from Winter Hill, but had poor reception offering Welsh programming from Moel-y-Parc. The other two sites were Flint and Holywell. All three sites closed at DSO in November 2009, being replaced by Storeton (Wales). The original channel allocations were BBC1 - 43, S4C - 40. These were changed to BBC1 - 57, S4C - 53 on 3-Jan-2001 as a consequence of interim DTT equalisation at Winter Hill.

The Beeb has this site at SJ209739, but it's at SJ212735!
