This looked an interesting site to stop off at on the way down to Clarkson's Farm.
Whichford Hill was an intermediate SHF site between Whipsnade and Sutton Coldfield, important in the expansion of Radio 3 in stereo. Whipsnade received Radio 3 off air from Wrotham, passed this up to Whichford Hill which then passed over to Sutton Coldfield. It seems the link from Whichford Hill to Sutton was not without its issues, and looks to have been retired when the link was re-engineered to handle the PCM distribution chain, being replaced by Thorpe Lodge and Meriden. I have no idea on the dates on the start and end of Whichford Hill.
